Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 2026
Our Commitment
HYVE CARES is committed to ensuring that our educational platform is accessible to all learners, including individuals with disabilities. Education is a universal right, and we believe that every child — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to high-quality learning experiences. We are dedicated to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and to meeting the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Accessibility Standards
We strive to comply with:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
- Section 508 — of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d), as amended
- ADA Title III — Americans with Disabilities Act, as applicable to public accommodations and commercial facilities
Accessibility Features
HYVE CARES includes a comprehensive set of accessibility features designed to support diverse learning needs:
Visual Accessibility
- Dyslexia mode: Switches the entire platform to the OpenDyslexic font, designed to increase readability for users with dyslexia
- High contrast mode: Increases color contrast throughout the interface for users with low vision
- 6 color themes: Including Arctic (a full light theme), and multiple dark theme variants to suit individual visual preferences and reduce eye strain
- Reduced animations: Option to minimize or eliminate motion and animation effects for users with vestibular disorders or motion sensitivity
- Screen reader support: Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and proper heading hierarchy throughout the platform for compatibility with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver)
Cognitive Accessibility
- ADHD focus mode: Reduces visual clutter and distractions, simplifying the interface to help users maintain focus on learning content
- Voice learning mode: Lessons can be read aloud using the browser's built-in text-to-speech, enabling auditory learning
- Clear navigation: Consistent, predictable navigation patterns throughout the platform
- Simple language options: AI-powered content can adjust reading level to match the learner's needs
Motor Accessibility
- Full keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape, Arrow keys)
- Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines on all interactive elements for keyboard users
- No time-limited interactions: Users are not required to complete any action within a time limit (except optional timed practice exams, which can be taken untimed)
Accessibility Quick Toggle
A persistent accessibility settings button is available on every page, allowing users to quickly enable or disable accessibility features without navigating away from their current activity. Settings persist across sessions.
Known Limitations
While we work continuously to improve accessibility, we acknowledge the following current limitations:
- 3D lab simulations: Some interactive 3D scientific lab simulations (HAVSL) may not be fully accessible to screen readers or keyboard-only users. We are working on alternative text-based lab interfaces.
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party providers may not meet the same accessibility standards as our own content. We are working with providers to improve compliance.
- PDF exports: Some exported documents may not be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility. We are improving our export templates.
- Complex data visualizations: Some charts and progress graphs may have limited accessibility. We provide text-based data alternatives where possible.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
We take accessibility feedback seriously. If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using HYVE CARES, please let us know so we can address them:
- Email: majixx@vibesoftwaresolutions.com
- Report form: www.hyvecares.org/report
When reporting an accessibility issue, please include as much detail as possible: the page or feature you were using, the assistive technology (if any), a description of the barrier you encountered, and your preferred method of contact. We will respond to all accessibility reports within 5 business days.
Alternative Formats
If you need any content on the Platform in an alternative format (large print, Braille-ready text, audio description, or other format), please contact us at majixx@vibesoftwaresolutions.com. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the requested format within a reasonable timeframe.
Third-Party Content
HYVE CARES integrates with third-party services (Stripe for payments, AI providers for tutoring). While we select providers who share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content and interfaces meet the same accessibility standards as our own platform. We encourage users to report any accessibility issues with third-party integrations so we can work with our providers to improve the experience.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are committed to:
- Regularly testing our platform with assistive technologies
- Including users with disabilities in our testing process
- Training our team on accessibility best practices
- Reviewing and updating our accessibility features with each major release
- Addressing reported issues promptly and transparently
