Logo: A Picture That Means a Whole Thing
A logo is a small picture or symbol that stands for something bigger, like a school, a team, or a store. Think about a apple with a bite out of it — that simple shape means a giant computer company to millions of people! Good logos are simple enough that you could draw them from memory.
Colors Send Messages Too
Red often means STOP, danger, or excitement — that's why stop signs and fire trucks use it. Green often means GO or nature, like the green light that tells cars to drive. Yellow often means CAUTION, like a school bus or a caution sign. Designers pick colors to help your brain understand a message even before you read any words!
Fire trucks in some cities are painted bright yellow-green instead of red, because studies found firefighters can see that color better at night and in fog — proving color choices can even be about safety, not just looks!
Fonts: Letters Have Personalities
A font is a specific style that letters are drawn in. Some fonts look bouncy and fun, like they belong on a birthday card. Some fonts look sharp and serious, like they belong on a news website. Designers pick fonts the same way they pick colors — on purpose, to match the feeling they want you to have.
