Photos of People We Love
PHOTOS save memories. When you take a photo of someone you love, you're saving a tiny piece of time — their smile, their face, this exact day. Years later, that photo will bring back the whole memory. Phones make it easy, but a few simple ideas will make your photos much better.
Three tips for great people photos. (1) USE NATURAL LIGHT: turn the person toward a window, not against it. Bright window light makes everyone look great. Avoid harsh overhead lights. Avoid these mistakes. (1) BLURRY photos — hold steady, both hands, don't move while pressing the button. (2) BLOCKED faces — make sure no hat brim, hair, or hand is hiding their face. (3) BUSY backgrounds — keep stuff behind them simple. (4) ZOOMING TOO MUCH on a phone — get closer instead. Each tip improves your photos a lot.
Family Portrait
Ask a family member if you can take their photo. Use natural light from a window. Take 3 photos: one posed, one of them doing something they love, one close-up smiling. Compare. Which is your favorite — and why?
Photos of people we love are some of life's most precious things. Practicing now means YOU will be the family photographer who captures the moments others miss.
