Colors and AI Art
Say hi to an art computer! You can ask it to draw a picture just by using your words. If you say, 'Draw a big RED dog,' the computer makes a red dog. If you say, 'Draw a BLUE fish,' you get a blue fish. The secret is choosing good color words. Today you get to be the boss of the colors!
What You'll Learn
Today you will: - Name colors you can ask the computer to use. - Change a picture just by changing one color word. - Tell the computer what to draw and what color to make it.
Color Words Are Magic Words
When you talk to an art computer, your color words are like magic words. Each one tells the computer what paint to grab. - Red is the color of a fire truck and a strawberry. - Yellow is the color of the sun and a banana. - Blue is the color of the sky and the sea. - Green is the color of grass and a frog. When you say the color word, the computer paints with that color!
Change One Word, Change the Picture
Watch what happens when you change just the color word: - 'A yellow flower' makes a sunny yellow flower. - 'A purple flower' makes a purple flower. - 'A pink flower' makes a pink flower. Same flower, new color! You only changed one little word, and the whole picture changed. That is your color power.
Put the color word right before the thing you want. 'A GREEN car' works great. This helps the computer paint the car the color you picked.
Match each color to something that is that color.

You want the computer to draw a red apple. Which words do you say?
You asked for 'a blue fish' but you want it to be orange instead. What do you change?
Make a rainbow color list
Get paper and crayons. Pick four colors you love. For each one, draw a small dot of that color, then draw one thing that is that color next to it (like a red heart or a green leaf). Then say out loud a picture you would ask the art computer to make, like 'A purple butterfly!' Deliverable: your four-color paper, and tell a grown-up the color picture you would ask the computer to draw.
